The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
RTX’s Technology and Global Engineering organization seeks a director to coordinate microelectronics strategy across our three business units. RTX is the world’s largest Aerospace and Defense company and utilizes complex, customized microelectronics components in a broad spectrum of systems, including radar, electromagnetic warfare, missile guidance, avionics, GPS, and optical/IR imaging. The Corporate Microelectronics Director will be responsible for developing and coordinating company-wide strategy in this key technical area and guide decisions regarding investments in internal capabilities and partnerships with external partners.
What you will do:
Develop and coordinate corporate level strategy across RTX’s three business units (Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney) in the areas of microelectronics design, fabrication, and packaging.
Lead corporate level coordination of design tools and standards for design re-use for FPGA, ASIC, chiplet and other microelectronics systems across RTX business units
Spearhead strategic partnerships with external partners (for design, fabrication, packaging, etc.) and act as lead RTX point of contact.
Represent RTX interests and capabilities to government organizations and customers; coordinate RTX engagement on CHIPS Act activities
Make recommendations to corporate and business unit leadership on internal R&D and capital investments
Oversee corporate IRAD portfolio in microelectronics
Serve as RTX representative to industry consortia and organizations in areas related to microelectronics and represent RTX at relevant technical conferences
Qualifications You Must Have
Advanced degree in engineering or a related technical field
At least 15 years of professional experience in microelectronics design and/or fabrication; research and expertise recognized externally by other regulatory bodies, customers, or universities.
Experience in the aerospace and defense industry
Qualifications We Prefer
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the business or enterprise.
Experience leading the capture of R&D contracts, including development of winning technical strategy, recruiting and negotiation with teammates, and preparation of technical proposal

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
