Job Description:

Job Summary:

Reporting to the President, BWFC, the Vice President, Global Operations, BWFC will be responsible for driving People and Performance across the Division’s10 global manufacturing and assembly sites.  This individual will be instrumental in driving profitability and step-change performance within the BW culture, across BWFC. A key member of the BWFC Global Leadership Team, the VP, Global Operations will partner with the other leaders to outline strategy for both Operations and the Division as a whole.

This strategic leader will own the performance of BWFC global operations across our four Value Streams: Fillers, Seamers, TFFS/FS and Strategic Products. The Value Streams each contain Pre-Contracting, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Assembly, Quality and Continuous Improvement.  This individual will drive substantial improvements in operational performance using Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies and foster collaboration across our global Value Streams. The VP, Global Operations must able be able to set ambitious targets, challenge Leaders and Team Members to exceed their perceived limits, and consistently raise performance standards while cultivating the BW Culture.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead BWFC Global Operational Strategy:

  • Create and implement a global operational strategy for BWFC to ensure the global organization achieves its organizational goals
  • Ensure that the BWFC operational strategy cascades throughout each of the Value Streams and drives the Teams’ activities both short and long term
  • Identify opportunities for strategic investments, expansions, or synergies to enhance our global operational effectiveness

Drive BWFC effort to ensure a Safe Work Environment and deliver higher Margins, Quality and Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead and own workplace safety initiatives across all global manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and implementing best practices to create and maintain a safe work environment for all team members
  • Ensure all areas of the business are performing to the requirements of the customer, and the company (e.g., margin, OTD, cost of poor quality).  Challenge the status quo to minimize risk and maximize performance
  • Lead BWFC’s Supply Chain organization  to both maximize BWFC’s material cost and deliver a consistent, high-quality supply of material to our Value Stream Operations
  • Implement and champion Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance both the Customer’s Experience as well as operational efficiency
  • Implement Purposeful People Planning across all Value Streams ensuring BWFC has the staffing and skillset required to meet the needs of the business, driving best practices across sites, minimizing duplication and enhancing efficiency

Build BWFC Operational Flexibility:

  • Develop strategies to enable our Value Streams to maintain utilization through the natural cycles of variable demand for New Equipment
  • Create systems and processes that allow for seamless transfer of production between sites, as needed
  • Implement cross-training programs to develop a versatileteam capable of supporting various product lines
  • Optimize global capacity utilization by balancing workloads across sites

Create Global Collaboration among Value Streams:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase collaboration between each Value Streams’ global manufacturing sites
  • Lead the selection and deployment of common process, tools and technologies (ERP, PLM, etc.) across all sites to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Oversee the development and implementation and documentation of global standard processes across the Value Streams
  • Create a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-site learning to leverage global expertise
  • Establish standardized performance metrics and reporting systems across all sites
  • Ensure seamless integration of harmonized processes with existing systems and local requirements

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing global Operations Leadership Team
  • Drive accountability for results while being supportive and effective at developing  Team Members to assume greater levels of responsibility and individual contribution
  • Lead, motivate, and develop Leaders within the Value Stream on an ongoing basis, and provide direct feedback, counsel, and coaching to enable better individual, team and company performance
  • Partner with the Strategic Marketing, Market Companies, People, and Finance Teams to ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across all sites

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role with multi-site experience
  • Proven track record in implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Strong understanding of global manufacturing processes and supply chain management
  • Experience in harmonizing processes and tools across multiple international sites
  • Demonstrated ability to increase manufacturing flexibility and optimize global capacity
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
  • Willingness to be on site in a BWFC facility 70% of the time including ~25% of the time at non-US locations
