JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant works closely with the Inventory Accounting Manager and financial reporting team in a dual role that includes manufacturing accounting shared services provided to the Company’s segments and quarterly assistance to the SEC financial reporting team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented senior level accountant beginning their career in Big 4 public accounting with a focus on manufacturing clients or subsequent industry experience including manufactory accounting. SAP knowledge and experience is required.  ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of monthly manufacturing entity financial statements to provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis, with comparisons to and variance analysis against prior year, budget, and forecast
  • Prepare or assist with annual standard costing updates
  • Prepare or assist with all aspects of inventory such as product costing, physical inventory/cycle count programs, manufacturing variance analysis, etc. for both purchased goods and company-owned manufacturing. 
  • Prepare monthly accounting close journal entries and analysis
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Perform distribution and assessment cycles within SAP, including the creation and maintenance of cost centers and profit centers
  • Assist with quarterly SEC financial reporting
  • Assists in analyzing and reviewing transactions for proper GAAP treatment
  • Assists in developing and maintaining appropriate internal control procedures
  • Special projects, other duties/responsibilities as assigned 

 QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 2 - 3+ years’ experience Big 4 public accounting
  • 4 - 5+ years total accounting experience, including manufacturing and/or inventory-related industries
  • Knowledge and Understanding of GAAP 
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounting experience in a manufacturing and/or inventory intensive industry
  • SAP experience required
  • CPA a plus
