New England Life Care currently has a remote opening for a Pharmacy Support Specialist. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, remote position. The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday from 8AM – 5PM, and the ideal person for this role must be willing to travel to each pharmacy branch location (Scarborough, ME; Concord, NH; Woburn, MA; and Canton, MA). 

**Because of the travel requirement, we are only hiring candidates from the following states: Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. **

 

Job Summary: The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Pharmacy teams with clerical and non-clinical operational tasks which will ensure streamlined efficient processes for the department.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports the pharmacy team by coordinating regular inter and intradepartmental communication and timely updates related to or impactful to the pharmacy team.  
  • Supports HR, Pharmacy leadership, and Pharmacy Training teams with clinical document management including competency evaluations and license verifications.
  • Assist HR and Pharmacy leadership recruitment and onboarding processes. 
  • Assist the Pharmacy team with requesting and monitoring order renewal and order changes.   
  • Supports the pharmacy leadership team by managing staff and meeting schedules.  
  • Works with pharmacy leadership and facilities to schedule biannual environmental monitoring, routine maintenance, calibrations, etc. in each branch to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. 
  • Reviews and analyzes census/capacity reports and coordinates level loading volume amongst branches with the pharmacy, operations, and reimbursement teams.
  • Assist the pharmacy and revenue cycle teams by completing or coordinating the completion of billing edits.
  • Performs additional non-clinical tasks at the request of the pharmacy leadership team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with changing priorities and short deadlines and effectively handle a heavy workload which may include assisting other departments within NELC.

 

Educational / Professional Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-Secondary Degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in a Healthcare related field is preferred

 

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Pharmacy Technician license as required by state specific Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations preferred
  • Knowledge of the Joint Commission accreditation process and overall JC standards preferred

  • Communicate both orally and in writing, with clients, clinical and non-clinical personnel
  • Excellent Organization Skills
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Working / practical knowledge of microcomputer systems including patient documentation systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Dependability in attendance and job performance required.
