 The Legacy Project is a youth development and empowerment program based in Central Ohio. With funding from The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and The Hagedorn Legacy  Foundation, this innovative program helps high school students identify and achieve their educational and vocational goals by providing the resources, innovative experiences and a network of support to move toward social and economic mobility. During high school, students will participate in experiential, hands-on learning experiences that allow them to grow, create, achieve and lead. Working one-on-one with an individualized coach, Legacy Project students focus on character skills development and cultivation of a problem-solving mindset to reach their career goals. 

Position Description:  

The Operations Manager is responsible for the operational and administrative management of The Legacy Project. This role manages program processes, functions and operations administration. Specifically, the Operations Manager leads event planning activities for the program; provides communications support to program constituents; maintains student-related program records, stipends and scholarship disbursements; ensures that all program-related requirements and standards of operation are being upheld. 

The Operations Manager works with state and local service providers to help manage the creation of partner deliverables and activities.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the planning, development and execution of program-related events and activities. 

  • Optimize and execute communication opportunities with various stakeholder groups.

  • Oversee operational budgeting and expense management. 

  • Manage the program’s evaluation processes.

  • Manage the program’s alumni relations/outreach activities.

  • Manage student scholarship awards and stipend distribution processes. 

  • Manage the work projects and deliverables of program partners.

  • Help coordinate necessary tutoring for students who do not meet program academic standards

  • Work with board members to schedule quarterly board meetings

  • Coach students as needed

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree with experience in: non-profit management; youth program development; events management; project management. 

Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Have effective time  management, organization, and prioritization skills and be able to work in a fast-paced,  dynamic environment. Background checks will be conducted on all candidates. Final candidate offer is contingent upon verification of credentials and other information required  by law based upon a criminal background check.

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $65,900.00 - $77,500.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
