Job description

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Graphic Designer with a deep understanding of the sports industry to join our creative team. You will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects for major sports teams and leagues such as the WNBA, NWSL, NHL, Big Sky Conference and more!
 

Scripps offers a remote work option for this position.
 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • You will work closely with the Art Director and the marketing team to create high-quality designs for a wide range of projects, including promotional graphics, digital assets, event branding, social media content, print materials and other sports-related initiatives for all our partners.
  • Ensuring all designs align with the brand, league or team’s identity.
  • Translates and executes effectively against creative briefs.
  • Communicates clearly with team members on timing, workload, and deliverables.
  • Review artwork to ensure the project goals have been met to the highest standard.
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and iterate on designs as necessary to achieve the desired final product.
  • Maintain an organized library of design files and assets for easy access and future use.
     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1 - 5 years’ experience in graphic design, with a focus on sports-related content
     

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • A strong portfolio showcasing sports-focused design work, including logos, social media graphics, digital content, print materials and event branding.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.
  • Knowledge in PowerPoint/Keynote a plus.
  • Knowledge in the project management platform Wrike a plus but not required.
  • A strong understanding of how to visually represent the excitement, energy and culture of sports design.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to incorporate photography into design work for social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Previous graphics and art production work in sports related fields required.
