Associate Director, Commercial Segment Lead - Multiomics, Europe 

Europe - Remote 

 

This role can be located at an existing Illumina hub, including the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and Nordics.

The role  

 

As the Sales Leader for Multiomics in Europe, you will be responsible for managing a small team of sales specialists, and for developing the commercial strategy, managing the product pipeline, and achieving revenue goals for Multiomics, incl. proteomics and single cell sequencing products. This is with the goal of bringing genomics and Multiomics solutions into research and clinical healthcare systems. You will work with cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on placing, promoting, selling and driving Illumina’s Multiomics portfolio as a strategic proposition.

Position Responsibilities:  

  • Manage the Multiomics strategy, communication and enablement across Europe, ensuring Illumina approach these in a consistent and efficient way. 

  • Be a key partner in sales strategy and execution across Europe. 

  • Develop high-value, long-term profitable customer accounts through relationship building and partnership. Develop and maintain strong external and internal relationships with key stakeholders and utilise them to deliver commercial growth opportunities in the region. 

  • Work with sub-regional teams and cross functions (e.g., Marketing) to develop and facilitate adoption of the strategic plan to the regional teams. 

  • Work cross functionally to identify gaps and business opportunities, build effective processes and partner to develop strategic plans to address these opportunities and grow incremental business. 

  • Build processes to define best practices in assessing strategic growth opportunities in the Multiomics space, build deployable growth models and ensure accountability to achieve impactful outcomes. 

  • Contribute to business case development, defining investment needs, go-to-market strategies, deliverables and expansion opportunities. 

  • Develop, implement and monitor the regional commercial growth plans (through identification of key success metrics) for Illumina’s multiomics portfolio to meet both the revenue and strategic goals. 

  • High-level collaboration with other cross functional teams & staff to ensure coordination of activities and understanding of common goals. 

  • Provide strategic and competitive feedback to Marketing team and partner to develop robust competitive strategies. 

  • Communicate the customer needs from both internal and customer requirements providing a channel to product marketing and Research & Development. 

  • Work with Commercial Operations to develop programs and tools to ensure effective commercial growth management and communication. 

  • Provide regular updates to Sr Management on commercial growth progress, actions and outcomes. 

  • As part of a cross functional team, help to build and execute a plan to raise the ability of the wider sales team to identify, qualify and close multiomics opportunities. 

  • Broad knowledge and deep relationships with global multifunctional teams across Research & Development (R&D), Marketing, Service & Solutions, Market and Business Development functions to lead strategy in multiomics for the EU region, forming strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization. 

  • Bring together aspects of product development, customer support and sales enablement within multiomics for the European region to enable go-to-market strategy. 

  • Leadership position in Europe managing a team of proteomics and single cell sequencing experts both at a technical and sales level. 

 

All About You Requirements:  

  • Demonstrate a customer-first mindset to ensure customer success. 

  • Extensive sales experience. 

  • Experience in multiomics, proteomics, spatial, single cell sequencing preferred. 

  • Experience in managing projects, functions, resources and/or teams. 

  • Experience and understanding of genomic technologies and how they can be utilized in the multiomics market. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team. 

  • Ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. 

  • Ability to evaluate new market opportunities. 

  • Proven ability to lead and influence a broad spectrum of constituents (product management, sales, etc.) with divergent interests in order to create a defined and focused course of action. 

  • Proficiency in English is a must. Outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and training skills, capable of conveying complex information with clarity. 

  • Proven ability to engage in complex customer interactions whilst maintaining positive customer relations. 

  • Capacity to maintain calm under pressure.  

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% across Europe.
