Senior Architectural Software Engineer

About the role


As a senior architectural software engineer, you will play an integral role in the architecture, design, and development of our containerized backend microservice platform to be used by our Kodak Moments applications. The components will make it easy for our applications to create personalized imaging products that can be picked up in-store or mailed directly to home. You will work closely with the team to design, develop and test our backend software utilizing Agile development practices.


The individual will work remotely with our Rochester, NY staff, with travel to Rochester as needed.Key 




Responsibilities


Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing multi-tenant cloud-based systems and infrastructure that can be white labeled.

Drive the design of platform microservice components and RESTful services to be used by our front-end applications

Confirm architecture is modular, scalable, reusable and meets security standards for protecting personable identifiable information (PII)

Enable system deployment utilizing DevSecOps best practices

Contribute to the definition, development, integration, documentation, and support of our software code base

Integrate 3rd party solutions to extend capabilities while maintaining a highly scalable and robust system, such as SalesForce eCommerce

Test/evaluate new and emerging technologies for inclusion in our product

Identify and integrate solutions that improve performance, monitoring, scalability, and overall security of our backend platform

Job RequirementsQualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

4+ years architecting microservices that are highly scalable and secure

Experience with Linux & Windows environments with an understanding of their fundamentals and internals

Experience deploying self-contained microservice containers using DevSecOps best practices, such as infrastructure and configuration as code, CI/CD pipelines

Knowledge automating and testing deployed solutions to verify production readiness with tools such as Postman that check SLA performance, scalability, and system integration

Demonstrated experience deploying cloud solutions using Canary Releases, A/B Feature or Blue-Green Deployments

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Great communication skills, work ethic and willingness to be a team player

Understanding of cloud security and compliance (IAM, security groups).

Ability to implement and manage cloud monitoring tools.

Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMs, containers).

Skilled in Kubernetes networking, storage solutions, and cluster security best practices, including RBAC and network policies.

Specific expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools, with an emphasis on Terraform.

Experience developing and deploying secure API’s with REST, GraphQL and/or gRPC.

Cloud Computing with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud (Docker & Kubernetes)

Linux/Windows Deployment of Docker containers

Windows, including WSL2

C#, NodeJS, Python, HTTP/HTTPS, REST, JSON, XML

Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python

Terraform or equivalent IaC experience

API development (REST, GraphQL, gRPC)

Git, Package Managers (Nuget, NPM, PyPm), DevOps, CI/CD pipelines

Database systems (SQL, MariaDB, MySQL, NoSQL, CosmosDB)
