Administration and maintenance of Databases and applications.
Adhere to IT policies and procedures for systems administration.
Perform standard operations for day-to-day business support for system usage.
Perform standard operations for administration of User management on all supported systems.
Perform regular System health check and take necessary action for identified deviations.
Monitor and maintain optimal system performance. Take necessary action to ensure system availability is not affected.
Resolve data integrity and corruption issues in databases and applications.
Incident resolution through our ServiceDesk (ticketing) support system
Configure, manage, monitor and periodically test system backups to ensure reliability of our processes.
Perform weekly and urgent production promotes as per our change management policy.
Perform
system updates for critical patches and bug fixes. Also carry out
updates based on the requirement of internal and external projects.
Perform
Server and database sizing activities periodically or when a new
business function is to be implemented in an application.
System audit implementation; support for both internal and external audits.
Work on assigned projects to install, configure and deliver new setups for test runs as well as production usage.
Write
and implement code at Operating System and Database level to aid in
administration as well as support data interface needs.
Provide
support for critical issues and systems changes beyond office hours and
on weekends. Extended on-call support to NPP division which starts
operation at 4 am.
Provide business support for services managed by systems team.
Configure and manage policies and procedures to ensure system security and avoid threats.
Escalate incidents and threats to Line Manager and work on timely resolution.
Work
with our AMC vendors to keep systems healthy and updated for issues and
bugs. Perform preventive maintenance work as and when required. Database
and application services license maintenance. Initiate requisition
process to get needful approval for additional licenses based on
business needs.
OTHERS
Maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability for all our systems
Work closely with team and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
Keep up to date with technical and industry developments.
Travel to other office locations when required to implement new systems or functions.
Conduct
periodic awareness sessions for IT team and concerned users for
implementing new IT policy or for best practices purpose.
Follow
the resource calendar, ServiceDesk system and Project system to track
and work on the assigned activities and provide timely updates.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Proactive administration of enterprise database systems.
Timely resolve access, performance, and related support calls as per service objectives.
Weekly production promotes as per set schedule.
Work with other IT teams for support and project activities.
Periodic cloning and backup testing cycles.
Maintain the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of database services.
Requirements
COMPETENCE AND CAPABILITIES
Bachelor’s or higher degree in any stream. Preference given Technology related stream.
Minimum 3 years of experience in database administration.
ITIL certification preferred.
Certification in Database administration for Microsoft and Oracle preferred.
Excellent knowledge in Oracle (on-prem and OCI cloud) and SQL Server databases.
Excellent knowledge in performance tuning.
Excellent knowledge in backup methodologies and tools.
Working knowledge in Oracle Mid-tier (Weblogic).
Working knowledge in administration of Business Support applications.
Working knowledge in database architecture for OLTP and data warehouse.
Should be extremely organized and structured in office work.
Excellent communication skills. English is the official language.
Candidate must have work experience in Office 365 collaboration and communication cloud.
