Responsible for daily monitoring and support of interfaces between Athena/IDX applications and Portfolio (Epic) application suite. Participates in the preparation of accurate and complete technical specifications, such as schema or file specifications, program specifications, backup and recovery controls as necessary for all interface and other integration development efforts. Assists in planning, executing, and managing the integration of new applications into existing infrastructure, systems and software. Works closely with users to define objectives and outputs of proposed applications in accordance with divisional standards. Conducts or participates in feasibility studies to determine the most appropriate technical solutions for proposed requirements. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Participates in the development of interface testing and programming plans. Participates in hardware and software evaluation efforts related to the purchase or utilization of new systems, interface development or monitoring tools and new application development software. Consults internally within the department and externally within University of Maryland Medical Campus (UMMC, SOM, FPI) on various projects and information technology efforts. Provides complex application support and guidance to end users and provides technical guidance to less experienced personnel. Serves as point of contact for resolution of complex application problems. Able to quickly assess problems and identify resolutions; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three or more years related experience in a programming language such as Ruby, Python, Erlang, etc. Concurrent experience using web frameworks like Rails, Seaside, Compojure,Django, etc.
Must have 3+ years exp. required Athena/IDX
Familiarity with at least one traditional (CVS, Subversion, etc.) and one distributed (git, Bazaar, Mercurial, etc.) version control system.
Familiarity with a variety of relational databases using SQL (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.) Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, CouchDB, Mnesia, BigTable, AllegroGraph, etc.) preferred.
Significant experience training, mentoring and coaching junior level staff members.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
