About the Role
The Business Development & Technical Sales Manager will work closely with the SVP of Global Sales and Director of Marketing to drive the growth of Skyven's heat-pump technology solutions and spearhead the company's expansion into the European market. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, developing and strengthening customer relationships, delivering tailored solutions for decarbonizing industrial thermal systems, building proposals, and leading deals to closure. By leveraging technical expertise and a strong understanding of industrial processes, this role will connect customer challenges with innovative, value-driven solutions that foster long-term partnerships and measurable carbon reduction outcomes.
Requirements
Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic plans for business development and sales growth in European markets.
- Identify and proactively pursue new business opportunities in targeted industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Align strategies with energy market trends, policies, and regulations to support industrial decarbonization projects.
Technical Sales & Lead Management
- Own the entire sales process from origination to deal closure.
- Qualify leads by gathering data to assess customer goals and ensure alignment with Skyven’s solutions.
- Successfully convert a targeted amount of sales pursuits to contracts annually.
- Use CRM software to maintain detailed records of customer interactions and sales activities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, progress reports, and pipeline updates for leadership.
Customer Engagement & Relationship Building
- Present Skyven’s business approach and value proposition effectively to diverse audiences.
- Provide expertise and answer customer inquiries about product features and capabilities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
- Ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
Collaboration & Solution Design
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to design and recommend tailored decarbonization solutions.
- Assess local standards and develop a database of potential execution partners.
Market Research & Networking
- Work with the Director of Marketing to conduct market research, identify trends/growth opportunities, and competitive insights.
- Attend conferences and industry events to represent Skyven and build connections.
- Build a network within the European decarbonization and renewable energy community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years in technical sales, business development, or related roles in energy or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of European energy policies, market trends, and industrial decarbonization practices.
- Proven record of developing and executing successful business strategies and meeting sales targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience using CRM software to manage customers and track sales performance.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct market research and competitive analysis
- Familiarity with industrial processes and energy systems
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to meet with customers, attend events, and site visits.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Experience selling and closing complex engineering solutions at the enterprise level.
- Experience or technical knowledge of decarbonization solutions for industrial sites.
- Fluency in one or more European languages is highly desirable.

- Expectation is that candidate will reside in Europe
- Domestic and international travel required up to 25-50% annually for customer visits, networking, and company events
