Salary: $68,000 to $72,000 Annually

Location: Points of Light is a remote-first organization. Any U.S. location in the Eastern or Central time zone in a market with a major airport. 

Position Summary:

Points of Light works with companies across industries, geographies, and sizes to develop and reimagine their corporate social responsibility (CSR) and social impact programs. The Senior Manager acts as consultant for a portfolio of corporate partners, leading ongoing or short-term engagements specific to the corporate partner’s social impact goals. Examples include developing toolkits that equip employees to plan team volunteer projects, conducting focus groups to assess program health and opportunities, designing recognition strategies, completing a landscape assessment, and developing a volunteer time off policy. 

The successful candidate must possess prior CSR program knowledge in either a corporate or nonprofit setting; excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills; keen attention to detail and experience in project management, public speaking or facilitation; experience managing relationships across sectors; and a passion for social sector work.

Position Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customized corporate social impact consulting services for corporate clients 
    • Serve as the primary consultant for a portfolio of corporate partners (typically 2-3 at a time) to assess employee volunteering consulting and training needs and deliver services and resources to address those needs.
    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns and form recommendations.
    • Facilitate focus groups and strategy sessions to capture insights and build active engagement.
    • Support the organization’s effort to be a leader in volunteering with purpose by leading trainings and/or presentations on volunteerism and social impact. 
    • Develop innovative solutions and forward-thinking recommendations to support corporate clients’ social impact goals and programs and/or advance employee engagement outcomes, which are communicated in a persuasive and actionable manner for the client.
    • Design high-impact deliverables for corporate clients, including toolkits, policies, and strategic frameworks. 
  • Serve as lead account and project manager for corporate clients 
    • Prepare for and lead regular client engagement meetings for portfolio of corporate partners, who are often senior leadership. 
    • Develop timelines and workplans and manage internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to meet the goals of the partnership while demonstrating our organizational expertise and maximizing opportunities for further partnership.  
  • Support the development of the Points of Light consulting practice.
    • Partner with the Insights team through knowledge of corporate practices that supports Points of Light thought leadership strategy and sector best practices sharing.
    • Help develop systems, infrastructure and processes to increase the excellence and efficiency of Points of Light’s corporate consulting work. 
    • Conduct research on corporate CSR programs, trends and best practices to bring fresh thinking and research-based solutions to our clients.
    • Pilot new Social Impact Consulting offerings and models.
    • Support the identification and cultivation of future partnership opportunities with prospective and current clients.

Core Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with, or demonstrated understanding of, CSR and corporate social impact strategy and planning, such as leading corporate volunteer programs or knowledge of corporate community engagement models and best practices.
  • Understanding of corporate structures and culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements and think creatively to achieve successful program solutions within project constraints.
  • Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations and written materials that effectively summarize findings and customize recommendations in a persuasive, compelling and actionable manner for internal and external stakeholders at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate trainings, interviews, strategy sessions, and focus groups.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills, ability to analyze and summarize quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-sector relationships and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective at managing up, elevating issues, and asking for support to ensure problems are proactively identified.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines with various levels of priorities, while being proactive and detail oriented.
  • Deep passion for and commitment to social impact work.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience with corporate social responsibility, corporate employee volunteer programs, project management, or management consulting.
  • High level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce preferred), program management software (Asana preferred), and data analytics/visualization tools are a plus.
  • Exceptional communications, project management and public speaking or facilitation skills.
  • Ability for overnight travel on occasion; 5-10% of the year. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, and a commitment to promoting equity in all aspects of the workplace.
