About 

Created in 2019, EICL was the UK’s first ever insurtech to secure its own insurance licence. Authorised and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, we provide underwriting capacity to the group MGA, Zego, for personal and commercial motor customers in the UK.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic Chief Insurance & Operations Officer to oversee regulatory relationships, operational excellence, and key business decisions. The role demands a strategic and analytical leader to drive growth and profitability targets.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee regulatory relationships alongside the Head of Compliance.
  • Consult on and contribute to regulatory processes, including reporting, Section 83A applications, and ORSA.
  • Oversee pricing, product, and underwriting decisions to support EICL’s growth and profitability targets.
  • Monitor KPI performance for all outsourced service partners and vendors, including the MGA.
  • Oversee broader operational projects for EICL, ensuring on-time delivery.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Proven experience in a senior insurance or operations leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory processes and relationships with key regulators.
  • Expertise in pricing, product, and underwriting strategies within the insurance sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs and drive performance improvements for outsourced service providers.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills to oversee operational initiatives.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to align teams with business objectives.
  • Familiarity with Gibraltar’s regulatory environment and UK insurance market.

Note: The primary location for this role would be either in Gibraltar or nearby in Spain. However, occasional travel to the London office may be required.
