Sr. Project Manager - Telecom
The Service Provider Project Manager will oversee and manage telecommunications and/or voice communications projects from inception to completion. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of telecom and VoIP technologies and project management methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and finalize complex multi-site projects according to strict deadlines.
- Track milestones and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members, contractors, and vendors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Build, develop, and grow contractor and vendor relationships vital to the success of the projects.
- Order, manage, and coordinate large-scale equipment orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- PMP, or similar project management certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience with voice and telecommunications technologies and infrastructure. Number porting experience is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with project management tooling and related software (Smartsheet, ConnectWise, Rev.io), methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft tools - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, etc.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
