About The Role
We are seeking a highly strategic and creative
Creative Services Director to lead our brand and performance marketing, content creation, and photography initiatives for our consumer ecommerce presence. This role combines strategic planning, brand development, and execution with hands-on involvement in content and photography to deliver impactful campaigns and visuals that resonate with our audience. You will also collaborate across teams to ensure consistency and excellence in all brand touchpoints. You will ideally be based in San Diego or Denver area.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement brand marketing strategies to drive growth, strengthen market position, and achieve business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
Brand Development
- Oversee brand positioning and messaging, ensuring consistency and coherence across all marketing materials, channels, and campaigns.
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop engaging content, video and visuals that align with the brand’s identity and resonate with target audiences.
Content Strategy
- Develop creative assets for use on our DTC ecommerce websites
- Support the email and SMS (lifecycle) content calendar with the Director of Marketing.
- Prepare detailed content briefs for the Graphic Designer, leveraging AI tools for efficiency.
- Assist in sourcing and commissioning illustrations in collaboration with the Art Department.
- Organize and coordinate the production of creative assets for product launches and campaigns.
Photography
- Train on-site in our internal methodology for consistent product photography.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive image library for our catalog of plants.
- Capture lifestyle photography of plants and hard goods for use across marketing channels.
- Collaborate with the Art Department to license images and graphics as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams, including product, content, and operations, to align brand messaging and marketing efforts.
- Provide guidance to ensure brand consistency and adherence to guidelines across all touchpoints.
Campaign Execution
- Lead the implementation of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and brand guidelines.
- Evaluate campaign performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in brand or performance marketing, creative services, creative project management, or related fields, with proven leadership experience and a high level of hands on, tactical experience.
- Skills: Strong understanding of brand development, content strategy, and photography techniques. Proficiency in analyzing market trends and using data-driven insights to inform strategies.
- Creativity: A keen eye for design, photography, and storytelling, with the ability to guide and inspire creative teams.
- Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate across departments.
- Leadership: Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- A 45 minute panel discussion with key stakeholders you’d be working with on a day-to-day basis

Compensation & Benefits & Perks
- Base Compensation: This role is an internal level of specialist with base compensation starting at $90,000 depending on location, experience, and industry demands.
- This role is eligible for a team performance bonus at 10%.
