Job description

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Advanced Planning Writer (APW) for a one-year remote contract position with the Division of Health Benefits. This role is pivotal in creating Advanced Planning Documents (APDs) and developing Medicaid Detail Budget Tables to enhance the North Carolina Medicaid and Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive Advanced Planning Documents and Medicaid Detail Budget Tables.
  • Facilitate APD kickoff, review, and closeout meetings.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on NC FAST APDs.
  • Draft submission letters for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams, vendors, and project teams, to ensure the successful development of APDs supporting the NC Medicaid MES Program.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in composing Advanced Planning Documents (APDs).
  • In-depth understanding of Medicaid systems and budget table formulation.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams across various functions.
  • Familiarity with fundamental project management principles.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Medicaid systems with a focus on Advanced Planning documentation.
  • Strong background in project management, demonstrating an ability to manage stakeholder relationships successfully.
  • A bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
