Role Purpose and Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Valuation Surveyor at RICS, you will play a vital role in delivering an education and risk-based programme to support and assure the competence of our UK and Ireland members. Internally, this vacancy is called Profession Support & Assurance Technical Specialist


You will be a key member of the Profession Support and Assurance (PSA) team, specialising in Valuation. Your work will focus on engaging with regulated firms and members through various methods, including face-to-face meetings and digital solutions, ensuring compliance with professional standards and best practices. Your efforts will help maintain the integrity and quality of surveying practices within the industry.


Your role will involve assistance in implementing our strategy for supporting firms and members in adhering to Valuer Registration regulation, conducting reviews of their professional work to assess compliance. You will provide feedback, coaching, and guidance to enhance their compliance frameworks, systems, and processes. Your responsibilities will include delivering thematic reviews, workshops, and webinars, sharing technical knowledge, and advising on best practices. Additionally, you will contribute to risk profiling, collaborate across teams, and support regulatory enforcement actions, ensuring the highest standards are upheld within the profession.



About You

• It is integral to this role that you must hold a current Registered Valuer status (MRICS and/or FRICS) alongside significant and proven established experience post qualification, providing valuations for secured lending and other purposes within the Red Book specifically in the UK property sector.

• To excel in this role, you'll need to have the ability to demonstrate confident, robust, and proportionate decision making, allowing you to arrive at evidence-based decisions.

• Your effective and successful conflict navigation and resolution whilst maintaining personal credibility and that of RICS with multiple external and internal stakeholders, often with conflicting agendas is essential to this role, along with your deep-rooted self-awareness and ability to circumnavigate feedback and changing behaviours to increase effectiveness in ways of working.

• Your exceptional copywriting skills will be crucial, as you'll be tasked with turning complex information into engaging content that captivates and inspires our audiences. You'll be especially capable of creating and presenting to large qualified and professional audiences.

• Your ability to cultivate strong relationships and navigate a complex organisational landscape will be essential in driving successful outcomes through collaboration and innovation.
