JOB SCOPE:

The Manager, People Ops In-Home Division (CA) will support a large, geographically dispersed team of In-Home technicians within a region, including all California based technicians. This individual will work with the Regional Field Director to both influence and lead associate relations, employee engagement, performance management, retention and compliance within the region.

Job Summary

The Manager, People Ops In-Home Division (CA), will serve as the primary HR partner for our West Region, primarily made up of our California-based technician workforce and act as the California compliance expert for the company. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of California employment laws, outstanding communication skills, and a proactive approach to employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that HR practices meet the needs of our employees while aligning with company policies and objectives. The candidate must reside in California to be eligible for this roleand will have an indirect reporting line to the DVP, People Operations.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to In-Home Technicians on HR-related matters, providing guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, and other employee concerns
  • Acts as the California compliance expert, owning all California-specific processes and requirements, and ensuring knowledge, processes, and reporting are in place company-wide
  • Works closely with Payroll, Compliance, Legal, and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to ensure compliance with California labor laws and to address new legislative changes effectively
  • Collaborates with Asset & Profit Protection (APP) regarding compliance with California OSHA requirements
  • Ensures compliance with California labor laws, including but not limited to wage and hour regulations, meal and rest breaks, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation
  • Leads change management efforts for HR initiatives, ensuring effective communication and adoption of new practices across the technician population
  • Develops and delivers training programs on California-specific HR policies and practices, ensuring managers, HRBPs, and employees are well-informed of relevant laws and company policies
  • Collaborates with In-Home leadership to understand workforce needs and implement initiatives to drive employee engagement, increase retention, and promote a positive work culture
  • Tracks and analyzes key HR metrics, such as turnover and employee satisfaction, to drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement
  • Supports managers in delivering effective performance feedback and managing employee performance issues

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors Degree

5-10 years of related experience

18 years of age or older

Required Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on California labor law compliance and employee relations
  • In-depth knowledge of California employment regulations, including wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and safety requirements
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex employee relations issues with discretion and sensitivity
  • Candidate must reside in California
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution, performance management, and change management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Proficiency in Workday
