Skift, the most influential B2B media and events company reporting on the travel business, is seeking a full-time Sales Manager to join our Group Subscriptions team to report to the Skift Subscriptions Director. This position is remote based in the UK or US.
The Opportunity
The Skift Group Subscription Sales Manager plays a critical part in the business development of our subscription services for the finance, hospitality, and technology sectors. You will be an individual contributor wholly responsible for renewing existing B2B clients and selling new subscription packages.
In this role, you will be responsible for selling any of our four brands (Airline Weekly, Pro, Research, and Daily Lodging Report) across your sectors. The ideal sales manager has deep experience with the entire sales process, and excels at lead generation, relationship building, and deal closing. We’re looking for a quick learner who has strong negotiating skills and a track record of hitting their goals.
Skift is especially interested in team players with an ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives. We are a highly collaborative team and work closely with marketing, product, and events in order to drive results.
Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with employees based across the globe. This position is remote, from anywhere in North America or the UK, and requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects.
Some of What You’ll Do
- Prospect for new business within the finance, hospitality, and travel technology sectors
- Seek out companies that would benefit from a group subscription to any of Skift’s four brands
- Manage relationships with existing subscribers, ensuring engagement and renewal
- Be an expert on Skift products - read them, understand the audience composition and engagement
- Facilitate all contract processes with new business and renewals (drafting, review, and negotiations)
- Record all deals in CRM, activate subscriptions, record payments, track late payments
- Monitor and forecast revenue
- Work alongside the marketing team to evaluate subscription offers and tweak as needed
- Attend relevant conferences
- Other tasks as required
The Experience You Bring
- 3+ years of B2B media or subscription sales experience
- Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing
- Proficient in Google Suite and Hubspot CRM
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Superb ability to collaborate and work well with others
