Job description

Team: Volunteering

Location: Remote with some UK travel required

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £56,102.81 per year

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities of our Engagement and Inclusion Lead:

  • lead within the People and Culture team and cross organisationally, our commitment to developing an inclusive and connected culture
  • devising, developing and supporting a range of engagement initiatives that amplifies the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment of our people to the organisation and the volunteer activity and the work they do
  • play a significant part in our equity, diversity and inclusion approach, developing a positive, diverse and thriving culture
  • role model, empower, include others and deliver the charity’s vision and aims

About the Volunteering, Engagement and inclusion team:

  • works across the organisation to support all our people in living our values and behaviours
  • provides support, guidance and advice to colleagues across the charity on all aspects of volunteer management and engagement
  • supports effective and inclusive engagement activities for all our people to ensure that everything we do makes a positive impact on cats
  • supports our organisation to be more equitable, diverse and inclusive
  • this a new role is part of the Volunteering, Engagement and Inclusion team which has a total of 13 employees and one volunteer

What we’re looking for in our Engagement and Inclusion Lead:

  • experience of operating as internal ‘expert’ guiding, influencing and shaping the people agenda and outcomes. Supporting organisational cultural initiatives on engagement and inclusion.
  • experience of shaping policy, developing and delivering engagement and EDI strategies and activities at a large/national scale
  • experience in inspiring and leading others without a formal line-management relationship
  • experience of working with volunteers and/or within the voluntary sector
