Job description

The Territory Sales Specialist will partner with members of Internal Sales, External Sales and Sales Management Teams recommending strategies to be more efficient and productive supporting sales of John Hancock Investments products and retaining assets in John Hancock Investments products.

This role will independently identify opportunities creating focus for sales teams by leveraging data and technology at the territory level to drive sales. This will be a mix of day to day activities and ongoing projects. These activities include but, are not limited to: evaluating data packs and broker dealer advisor information, third party data provider information, Salesforce.com report insight and construction, pre-meeting intelligence gathering, and sales team activity.
 
Individual Accountabilities:
  • Identify better ways to leverage data resources to identify best prospects, recommend these changes to sales management and then teach sales teams how to implement these strategies
  • Analyze broker dealer data packs, sales team activity to direct additional sales opportunities and activity focus
  • Improve salesforce.com and other tool usage by creating reporting to serve up top prospects to sales teams
  • Uncover opportunities through data mining that could enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Intermediary sales teams
     
Shared Responsibility:
  • Pull data and provide reporting on advisor and firm specifics (responding to requests from sales management and independently identifying opportunities)
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with Sales Management and territory sales teams
  • Participate in regular round-table discussions and feedback sessions around effective sales strategies with sales management and help to share insight of top performing teams
  • Maintain competitive intelligence by attending weekly Capital Markets meetings and engaging other internal departments including National Accounts and Marketing to understand John Hancock's internal strategies and how to compliment these initiatives
  • Analysis and tracking of Territory Action Plans that are created by sales teams to evaluate success and drive activity ensuring activity and sales goals are achieved
     
Required Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years financial services industry experience desired
  • 1-2 years working with analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Power BI.
  • BS in Business, Technology or related field
  • Series 6, 66 or 7 required or need to be completed within 1 year

  • Knowledge of / familiarity with the following are highly desirable:

  • Strong understanding of capital market and global multi-asset allocation 
  • Understand and explain analytic concepts clearly and succinctly
  • Communicate detailed conclusions and summarize findings
  • Optimize and leverage use of technology to gain efficiency

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Well developed analytical skills

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
