The Vacancy

Locations: Chester/Swansea

Binnies are part of the RSK Group and following recent success in securing AMP8 Frameworks within the UK Water sector Binnies are now recruiting for Civil Engineers to join our engineering teams across the UK. Working within our Delivery group you will support the delivery of UK Non-Infra Water Engineering projects within a design and build environment.

In addition to the above, Binnies offers you possibilities on an international scale with offices worldwide and projects completed in 100 plus countries. Key Duties And Responsibilities

Representing the Civil Engineering discipline on Projects which include:

  • Preparation of a variety of complex engineering deliverables, performing complex research and developing the civil scope and engineering specification requirements on Projects.
  • Preparation of engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
  • Collect, assimilate and manage data for engineering work
  • Assign and coordinate tasks with internal and external team members
  • Understand, input and adhere to budget, schedule and quality requirements
  • Actively seek to understand client drivers through client visits and project leadership
  • Continuing learning and remaining current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Binnies policies and procedures
  • Supports continuous improvement and applies knowledge
  • Share knowledge of latest technology and processes
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior/graduate engineers.


Person Specification

  • A Bsc or Msc Degree in Civil Engineering is essential
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership
  • Water sector detailed design experience is desirable
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team of internal professionals, third-party asset owners, stakeholders, technical officers and contractors.
  • Understand the importance of budget and programme control
  • Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to design, plan and organise tasks with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external clients to develop relationships across the business.
