Position Overview and Responsibilities
At Sentral, we are building a team of people-first focused individuals who thrive on going above and beyond. The Associate Director of Product & Engineering will oversee Sentral’s team of offshore engineers, drive strategi planning, requirements gathering, business stakeholder management, and successful implementation of digital capabilities. This role will focus on optimizing core community operations platforms (hospitality systems, property management systems, CRM, guest services, etc.) and integrating foundational technology and processes primarily for community operations. You will collaborate cross-functionally with business partners, external vendors, engineers, other product managers, designers, and most importantly, application users. You’ll drive product development from discovery to launch and be comfortable taking on many different tasks to deliver and support products for the communities. You'll constantly look for ways to improve the overall user experience, understand the competitive landscape,
share your ideas, and take action to deliver positive outcomes. You will also establish key partnerships with the operations team, helping integrate technology into business processes and establish performance metrics that help drive execution and enhance customer satisfaction.
This is a remote position that requires travel within the United States 15% of the time.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain a digital product roadmap that has measurable success metrics for your products. Ensure continual alignment with business priorities through frequent communication with stakeholders.
- Work with users, customers, and stakeholders to understand their business needs; translate these needs into business requirements documentation.
- Partner with the technology team and outside vendors to prioritize engineering work, groom user stories, and support user acceptance testing; ensure product requirements are implemented according to product strategy and business needs.
- Provide support documentation of delivered products to Sentral’s 3rd party IT support group to enable scalable ongoing support.
- Understand the functionality of both proprietary and third-party software, then decide the best way to bring them together to serve user and Sentral platform needs.
- Be an evangelist for your products and solutions, articulating the customer and business value to all levels of the organization. Develop compelling presentations and prototypes to communicate our product story.
- Champion the needs of business teams and stakeholders throughout the development process.
- Work collaboratively and drive the launch of the projects under your responsibility. Make thoughtful decisions and clear roadblocks to getting your product live.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in digital product management, with proven delivery of enterprise
software capabilities in an Agile development environment. - 5+ years of operational experience in a multi-family or hospitality environment.
- 5+ years implementing technology to a distributed operations team.
- Understanding of Change Management principles and what it takes to successfully implement a
consumer product with operational touchpoints. - Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with a wide variety of business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making in product development.
- Strong executive communication skills with an open and direct communication style.
- Balance of hard skills and EQ, with the ability to pivot based on audience.
- Industry experience in multifamily residential housing, homesharing/short-term rentals, or property technology a strong plus. Experience with PMS, CRM, Revenue Management, Mobile Key, and Guest communication platforms is highly desirable.
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced, fast-growing, start-up or scale-up environment.
- Humility, a desire to make others better, and the ability to exhibit grace and humor under
