The Accountant will oversee financial operations by analyzing accounting data, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. Experience in fashion or retail brands is a plus. Proficiency in NetSuite is essential, while experience with Shopify, Avalara, and e-commerce platforms is an advantage.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- E-commerce experience, with Shopify expertise as a plus
- Proficiency in multi-state sales tax compliance, reporting, filing, and remitting (Avalara experience preferred)
- Hands-on experience in preparing tax returns (multi-state filing)
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation skills
- Reporting package expertise, including monthly financials to HQ

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Perform monthly expense variance and quarterly financial fluctuation analyses
- Reconcile accounts and resolve financial discrepancies
- Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal policies
- Prepare property, sales, use, and franchise tax returns, with a focus on multi-state compliance
- Conduct budget vs. actual analyses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Creative, Fashion, Purchasing, Marketing, and IT
- Develop and maintain accounting controls, policies, and procedures
- Supervise bookkeepers to ensure accurate and timely accounting records
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and accounting support
- Coordinate with auditors and assist with audits
- Support daily finance operations, special projects, and ad-hoc requests

Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA designation (not required but preferred)
- Experience with fashion or retail brands (preferred)
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP and financial reporting systems
- Advanced knowledge of multi-state tax regulations

Requirements:
- Comfortable using time tracker tools like Time Doctor
- Highly motivated and organized
- Fluent in English - excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient on a computer and in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- High-quality noise-canceling headset
- High-speed internet (50+ Mbps) with backup internet
- High-speed computer with a working webcam also must have a backup computer
- A quiet working environment free of outside noise (cars, animals, others working)
