About You

Are you awesome at databases and have a passion for ensuring all aspects of a SaaS product line are providing a great customer experience?  As a Cloud Database Engineer for WorkForce, you will work as part of the Cloud Services team responsible for managing and optimizing mission critical database systems and applications supporting our flagship WorkForce Software management suite of products.   You will constantly seek new ways to improve database processes and optimize repetitive tasks within our production data centers located worldwide. 


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, performance and scalability of the database platforms that support WorkForce products.
  • Drive new technology research and adoption.
  • Define and operationalize ongoing database management, maintenance tasks, and performance tuning best practices.
  • Educate fellow team members on best practices for database deployments in public clouds, including configuration, health monitoring, backups and availability, data security, and performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot production application and database issues.
  • Create documentation and processes for other team members to follow.
  • Mentor and train fellow team members ensuring team members understand and follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Responsibility to manage storage and utilization of resources.
  • Deliver high-impact, high-value automation.
  • Work with other business units to bring visibility into resource consumption and product improvements.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Participate in on-call rotation.


Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience with Oracle 11g/12c/18c/19c
  • 6+ Linux system administration
  • Proficient with one or more scripting / programming languages (shell, bash, php, perl, etc.)
  • Demonstrate great analytic skills, able to independently troubleshoot application issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work with a range of teams and skill sets 


Desired Skills

  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration, tuning, and application troubleshooting
  • Cloud infrastructure experience with Oracle Cloud
  • Experience with both IaaS and PaaS services, including deploying Infrastructure as Code
  • Well versed in Agile methodologies

 

Travel

  • Up to 5%

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
