Our opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Employment Law Director to join our Legal team. In this key role, you will provide strategic advice on employment law and HR matters for our global workforce. Your work will span diverse areas such as recruiting, hiring, and onboarding; employee benefits, compensation, and performance management; and addressing workplace issues including discipline, terminations, and internal investigations. Additionally, you will manage leaves of absence, employee relations, and risk mitigation while ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, anti-discrimination regulations, and employee privacy standards. You will also support contingent workforce matters and contribute to fostering a culture of equity and compliance.

Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays at our San Jose, CA headquarters required
You will make an impact by being responsible for:
- Delivering business oriented, risk-based advice and counsel on the full range of employment law issues, including: hiring, disciplinary actions, dismissals, complex employee relations matters, compensation and benefits and leaves and accommodations
- Assessing and effectively communicating to business leaders the employment law implications associated with actions and initiatives involving or related to Automation Anywhere employees and contingent workers
- Developing and maintaining appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines related to employment law matters and review employment-related legal issues associated with company policies, procedures and guidelines as applicable
- Partnering with HR to provide guidance on applicable employment regulations, monitor developments in employment laws, and provide practical and actionable guidance to our business
- Leading the employment legal practice across the Company and collaborate with the extended HR team around the world to support and address employment related issues, including managing global outside employment counsel
- Administering the Company's global Ethics Hotline and respond to grievances raised in partnership with the relevant departments implicated
- Managing workplace investigations, administrative charges and employment litigation
You will be a great fit if you have:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- 8+ years of experience specializing in employment law, ideally combining in-house counsel expertise with foundational training at a law firm
- Active membership in good standing with a state bar, with a preference for California
- Proven experience advising on employment matters for both domestic and international workforces
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience handling a wide range of employment law issues, including: recruitment, hiring processes, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, compensation, benefits, contingent workforce management, workplace safety, and employee privacy
- Familiarity with addressing complex topics such as diversity and inclusion, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, investigations, disciplinary actions, immigration sponsorship, non-compete agreements, and labor union relations

The base salary range for this position is $190,000 – $220,000 per year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.
