Field Support Engineer – Industrial Automation

Avanceon is looking to hire a Field Service Engineer to join our Support Services Team. This engineer will be responsible for field deployments for emergency support as well as assisting project teams with installation and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate is someone with a wide range of experience supporting manufacturing facilities and the various systems that run production and enjoys being called in to save the day for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy to customer facilities when requested, sometimes with fast turnaround time, to assist with emergency plant support. Primarily local to the Philadelphia area, but also sites within the United States.
• Assist project teams when requested with on-site installation and commissioning activities at various customers.
• Ability to help customers over the phone and via remote access
• Perform root cause analysis to determine the source of reoccurring issues
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to the customer's schedule
• Perform onsite assessments and gap analysis of customer manufacturing systems, network infrastructure, and process flow

Requirements:

• Experience troubleshooting most or all of the following:
  • Industrial machines and electrical systems
  • PLC logic (Rockwell, Siemens, and Schneider Electric)
  • SCADA & HMI systems (AVEVA/Wonderware, Rockwell, WinCC)
• Ability to be on-call and deploy to site with short notice
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure and customer service attitude
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to recognize and raise concerns with a high sense of urgency
