NextGen/GTA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to spearhead our growth efforts within the Fiber Industry. This is a position focused on driving sales and expanding our presence within a predetermined client target list. While carrying the Director title, this role is an individual contributor position with no direct team management responsibilities. We’re specifically seeking candidates with experience selling into one or more of the following clients: Consolidated Communications (Illinois), Lumos Fiber (North Carolina/Virginia), CenturyLink/Lumen (Louisiana), Windstream (Arkansas), Swyft and REV [EATEL] (Louisiana), Google Fiber, and/or GigaPower.
Job Duties:
Build and establish relationships with top companies in the Fiber Industry, identifying opportunities to sell engineering services across various departments.
Drive the growth of NextGen/GTA’s engineering services by identifying new opportunities and develop tailored solutions for client needs.
Introduce and sell NextGen & GTA services
Leverage deep industry knowledge to navigate carrier organizations effectively, ensuring optimal positioning of our services.
Develop and execute on a strategic plan and create reliable forecasts
Drive revenue by prospecting and building a pipeline while simultaneously fostering personal relationships with potential clients
Be involved with applicable associations and nurture the relationships within those associations
Develop and implement account-specific strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Manage the entire sales cycle, from the introduction to ongoing account expansion
Maintain frequent communication with an existing business to ensure quality control, repeat and new business development
Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and leadership, to ensure alignment on client objectives and delivery excellence.
Stay updated on industry trends, challenges, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma/GED is required; Degree is preferred
7+ years sales experience in fiber solutions industry
Proven track record in sales and business development within the Fiber Industry, with a strong focus on top-tier carriers.
Skilled at building strong relationships and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers across departments.
Deep understanding of engineering services applicable to the Fiber Industry.
Adept at generating new streams of substantial revenue
Self-motivated, with a results-driven mindset and the ability to operate independently.
Competitive and unwilling to give up
Excellent at negotiating and closing
A skilled listener
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ideally located near key carrier hubs to facilitate relationship-building and account penetration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Existing relationships within the top carriers in the Fiber Industry.
Familiarity with engineering services, including but not limited to network design, deployment, and optimization.
Ability to navigate complex organizational structures to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
