Our crewing team at Wilhelmsen Ship Management in Cyprus is responsible for handling of all the crew P&I Claims for the fleet of the Wilhelmsen Ship Management. It maintains contact with P&I Clubs and manning agents for monitoring of the P&I crew claims.
The P&I Crew Claims Assistance reports to Crew P&I Claims Specialist.
Main responsibilities and tasks
•Handling Crew P&I Claims in case of illness and accident which leads to unfitness for duty and death.
•Follow up condition, treatment, and transportation of crew in the event of accident or illness
•Open and monitor the progress of the P&I case claim.
•Collect and analyse all relevant documentations and evidence, such as incident reports, medical reports etc.
•Evaluate claims in accordance with P&I Club rules and policy terms
•Liaise and communicate with internal/external stakeholders on matters relating to the P&I claim.
•Submit closed claim account to the responsible party after approval of the P&I claims specialist.
•General day to day correspondence with vessels, customers, and manning agents.
•Any other duties as they may be assigned.
Required Experience and Skills
•Good communication, interpersonal and controlling skills
•Excellent command of the English language
•Knowledge MS Office
•Flexibility to act outside regular business hours when necessary
•Previous working experience in the same position might consider an advantage.
•Experience gained as an operator in the crewing department is an advantage.
•Confidence when dealing with people in difficult circumstances
