Underwriting Intern - Property Retention

The Underwriting Intern in Property Retention will review business submissions and applications for acceptability and profitability within Company’s guidelines.

This position will be in Omaha, NE or Denver, CO,.  This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship. 

What will you do?

• FILE PREPARATION: Reviews and records new business submissions into ImageRight for Underwriting
• UNDERWRITING ACTIVITIES: Reviews new business submissions from agents for acceptability prior to quoting. Follows up with agent or broker for additional information, as necessary.
• QUOTING: Prepares and delivers quotes to agents within underwriting authority or with proper referral underwriting approval, as appropriate.
• QUALITY CONTROL AND REVIEW: Performs quality control inspections of system bound policies. Reviews applications, agency correspondence, and other underwriting information received versus policy to reconcile any discrepancies or errors and to ensure accurate information is contained in policy.
• THIRD PARTY DATA: Utilizes third party tools, data, and services to enable better underwriting decisions, improve accuracy of rating/exposure information, and produce better underwriting results.

• Excellent Customer Service Skills

In accordance with state pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith salary range estimate is being provided.  The salary range for this job is $20 - $22 per hour based on the primary posting location of Omaha, Nebraska.  Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law.
