Job Summary:
Aptive seeks a Program Manager with a strong background in strategic communications and outreach to support the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Program Manager will be responsible for developing innovative approaches and transformative processes that optimize the work of the institutes and centers.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the work of an integrated team of writers, creative designers, web developers, and outreach specialists working to support NIH’s mission. The Program Manager will be charged with overseeing and executing quality, risk, and program management tasks. They will also participate in strategic planning and growth efforts in support of our work with NIH.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating overall program policies and directing subordinate managers/staff.
- Direct and manage the operation of several programs/projects.
- Establish goals, objectives, performance requirements, and standards.
- Manage deliverable schedules for projects that include media, marketing, graphics, website design, video production and other communication activities, outreach, market research, and analysis.
- Ensure project quality and program success.
- Achieve the intent of the project and agency objectives by understanding the project needs and tailoring work to meet those needs.
- Demonstrate exemplary strategic communication and problem-solving skills with clients, peers, management, and contract staff.
- Make all operational and staffing decisions to support on time delivery and compliance with all contract requirements.
- Expert in communicating with government contact.
- Participate in business development efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications and written content development.
- Master’s degree in a related program such as mass communications, marketing, or public relations.
- Experience supporting complex projects for an NIH institute(s) required. Experience supporting projects in the areas of aging/older adults, cancer, chronic conditions, and mental health/behavioral health preferred.

- Excellent ability to communicate (written and verbally) across most mediums and settings.
- Ability to educate and inform senior internal and external stakeholders on initiatives.
- Attained credential and demonstrated ability in Project Management.
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively in teams managing multiple projects with complex deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing and managing integrated project initiatives, performing major decision making, solution development, analysis and evaluation, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to manage, lead and motivate a small to mid-sized team of professional staff.
- Experience participating in business development efforts, including, but not limited to, relationship building, strategic planning, and proposal development.
