Job Overview

As a Project Manager, you will be pivotal in steering our e-commerce design team towards success. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient and effective project execution within the design team, which includes senior designers, a design director, a lead designer, an art director, a content strategist & copywriter, and a UX team with two researchers. You will work cross-functionally with product managers to assist in the execution of product initiatives utilizing design resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day project activities to meet business objectives, coordinating with a diverse team including designers, strategists, and UX researchers.
  • Ensure tickets in Jira have background info and acceptance criteria, and team members have requirements to complete the task.
  • Collaborate with product managers to ensure the design backlog is prioritized and sequenced to product initiatives.
  • Monitor and enforce timelines related to ticket resolutions, align the team’s plan to the product sprint, and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Identify and address gaps and inefficiencies in the current process, collaborating with the team for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement new processes to enhance productivity and efficiency within the team.
  • Serve as a liaison between the design team and the Technical Program Manager, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team, product management, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing e-commerce or digital projects, preferably in an agile, design-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management tools like Jira, with an emphasis on the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively across different departments.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies, Scrum, and e-commerce technologies.
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience in an eCommerce environment.
  • Familiarity with Design/Creative, and UX team methodologies, content management systems, and e-commerce platforms.
  • Familiarity with design tooling like Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Zeplin.
