ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

As an Accounting Specialist at FMH, you will be responsible for providing customer support for a variety of accounts payable functions, including processing payments, maintaining customer records, coding expenses, and reconciliation of various accounts in a timely manner, supporting our mission to enable America’s farmers to clothe, feed, and fuel the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience:  Three to five years of accounts payable-related experience preferred.
• Education:  Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred, high school diploma required.
• Skills:  Familiarity with accounting software systems is a plus.  Understanding of basic accounting and treasury management functions (debits, credits, premiums receivable, reconciliations, commissions, and bank functions) is highly desirable.  Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.  Excellent attention to detail is necessary to be successful in this role, along with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administers the Company’s credit card program by providing training to new employees, issuing new cards, disabling log-ins for terminated and retired employees, answering questions, and conducting research when card holders are having issues using their credit cards.
• Issues wire payments for taxes, claims, and vendors.
• Sets up vendors in the vendor table, collects W9 information, address changes, and handles any maintenance of vendor wires or ACH bank information.  
• Processes vendor invoices for payment ensuring the proper coding has been done and the payments will be paid in a timely manner.  Handles any questions and expedites reasons why an invoice may not have been paid.
• Works with the financial reporting team to reconcile various accounts.
