Plains All American is an industry-leading transportation and midstream provider specializing in transportation, storage, processing and marketing solutions for crude oil and natural gas liquids (NGLs). We own an extensive network of pipeline transportation, terminalling, storage and gathering assets in key crude oil and NGL producing basins and transportation corridors and at major market hubs in the United States and Canada. On average, Plains handles more than 6 million barrels per day of crude oil and NGL in its Transportation segment. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

The selected candidate will be eligible for company benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision, vacation time off, and flex days. Additionally, this position comes with the option of a hybrid work schedule, combining working in our Houston office with working remotely.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze new rights-of-way, leases, deeds, assignments, bills of sale, contracts and other land documents (“Land Record Documents”) and prepare the land records data sheet.

  • Ability to plot land and pipeline legal descriptions, inclusive of metes and bounds for appropriate data entry of Land Record Documents.

  • Data entry of new Land Record Documents into the on-line Land Records Database System.

  • Assist in the review, input, barcoding, scanning and indexing of Land Record Documents to Documentum and Input-Accel application.

  • Maintain, organize and file all Land Record Documents in the Land Records file room.

  • Maintain, organize and file all land and pipeline maps/alignment sheets and survey plats in the Land Records Map Room.

  • Ability to review physical files to confirm the accuracy of the information represented in Land Records Database System.

  •  Assist with Land Record Document special projects as requested. 

  • Land Records Database System cleanup projects as well as maintenance of records as needed.

  • Respond to inquiries and provide information to Land Operations and other departments throughout the Company. 

  • Research surface ownership using online county clerk, assessor and recorder databases.

  • Prepare, organize and maintain Land Record Documents and update indexes to be stored offsite at Iron Mountain.

  • Submit Land Record Documents to county clerks for recording.

  • Assist with the mass mail-outs using U.S. Express Mail and FedEx.  Assist with the daily FedEx mailings when needed.

  • Prepare check requests, as needed.

  • General office duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Attention to detail is imperative and will be a key component.

  • Able to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with all levels within the organization as well as external contacts.

  • Thorough and detailed worker with excellent organizational skills and judgment.

  • Self-starter who is eager to learn.

  • Team player and responsible individual who takes initiative/ownership in all areas of work.

  • Experience with mapping software, particularly ArcGIS is strongly preferred.

  • Highly flexible and able to multitask and adapt to changing protocol and responsibilities as is necessary. 

  • Ability to meet deadlines, occasionally work overtime upon short notice.

  • Associate’s Degree or higher preferred, but not required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access.

  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks

  • Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
