Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring flooring materials and related products/services for our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the flooring industry. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source and produce flooring materials such as hardwood, laminate, tile, carpet, and vinyl from supplies/vendors while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules. 
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about any industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments in the flooring sector.  
  • Analyze procurement requirements, evaluate supplier capabilities, and recommend appropriate sourcing strategies to meet project deadlines and budget constraints. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers to understand flooring requirements and specifications for each project. 
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers/vendors to optimize cost savings, minimize risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues or disputes, and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain a seamless supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and corresponding using procurement management software or other tools.  
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate procurement status, cost-savings, and performance metrics to management and other relevant stakeholders. 
  • State updated on relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in procurement, particularly as the pertain to the flooring industry. 


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2-5 years) in procurement, preferably within the flooring or construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive cost savings and favorable terms with suppliers/vendors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and NetSuite
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, contract law, and ethical sourcing practices.
Salary Description
$60,000 - $70,0000/yr.
