With operations spanning across the UK, Europe (with emphasis on The Netherlands and Germany) and opening in India, we are committed to maintaining robust tax practices and adhering to regulatory requirements. We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to oversee VAT, withholding, and corporate tax obligations across the UK, Europe and India. This is a growth opportunity to be a key business partner within the organization, leveraging technology for automation and scaling and working with Senior Management and third party advisors on a variety of initiatives.  Selected candidate must be hands on, motivated, and be comfortable working both independently, with cross functional team(s) and other business partners.

  • Manage the preparation, filing, and reconciliation of VAT returns across the UK, European jurisdictions and India.

  • Monitor changes in VAT regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance with evolving rules.

  • Provide guidance on VAT implications for cross-border transactions and new business initiatives.

  • Oversee VAT audits and liaise with tax authorities as required.

  • Ensure compliance with withholding tax obligations on payments such as dividends, interest, and royalties.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and manage withholding tax reliefs or exemptions, including treaty benefits.

  • Maintain accurate documentation to support withholding tax filings and audits.

  •  Manage the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns for the UK, European and India entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Lead the tax provision process, including deferred tax calculations for financial reporting purposes and annual corporate audits.

  • Analyze corporate tax risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to optimize the company’s tax position including research and development credits.

  • Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation requirements across jurisdictions.

  • Provide strategic advice on tax-efficient structures for business operations, mergers, acquisitions, and other initiatives.

  • Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes in tax laws, advising the business on potential impacts.

  • Complete all monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations, adjusting entries; provide interim cash forecasts for tax payments.

  •  Leverage technology and partnerships to automate processes for scaling.

  • Work closely with finance and legal teams to manage cross-border tax implications.

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering growth and development.

  • Prepare and present tax-related reports to senior leadership, highlighting key insights, risks, and opportunities.

  • Other duties as assigned especially as related to mergers, acquisitions and other corporate initiatives.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field; CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in VAT, withholding, and corporate tax, with a focus on the UK, European and India markets.

  • Preference for software related experience especially in a SaaS environment.

  • Strong understanding of European tax treaties, research and development tax credits and transfer pricing principles.

  • Experience working in a multinational organization or Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.

  • Advanced knowledge of UK, European and India VAT, withholding, and corporate tax regulations.

  • Excellent accounting, analytical, and research skills. Knowledge ERP/tax and financial reporting systems with experience in automation and scaling. (Workday, Avalara, Vertex a plus).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s).

  • Strong presentation skills with proficiency in PowerPoint.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, compliance and constant improvement across the organization.

  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.

  • High degree of emotional intelligence with ability to manage ambiguity and change as company executes growth strategies.
