Engineer has the ability to lead a small client/client team (1-2 staff), small projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in equipment design and power systems studies; as well as solve medium to difficult design challenges that arise on a project.
Engineer can work in an independent manner on several project and/or client types with minimal supervision from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
Engineer should be able to apply their knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and other national standards to most project types, with minimal oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer. Engineer should have a basic understanding of energy codes and application to power and lighting design with oversight from a more Senior Engineer or Designer.
Engineer should have the ability to p erform power systems studies for distribution systems, including short circuit evaluations, protective device coordination, arc flash hazard analysis and incident energy mitigation with minimal oversight from Power Systems Engineer or Power Systems Team Lead.
Engineer will review equipment submittals with oversight from Power Systems Electrical Engineer
Engineer will be involved in technical communications with the customer and/or vendor
Job Duties
Engineer will develop skills and begin to be efficient in AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
Engineer should be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions pertaining to electrical design, NEC, NFPA 70E or other national standards.
Engineer should be proficient in SKM Systems Analysis and can perform power systems studies and evaluate distribution systems.
Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with other engineers to develop construction documents and power systems studies based on a clients' requirements, including some basic project management and construction administration functions.
Engineer will be able to perform quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
Engineer could have direct client contact, unless in a strictly technical role.
Engineer will work with Power Systems Team lead to establish project budgets, if requested, and be able to work within budgets. Engineer will also work with Power Systems Team lead to ensure projects are financially successful, unless in a strictly technical role for the company.
Engineer will not be Engineer of Record.
Engineer should be able to edit specifications for small to medium projects.
