Lead Curriculum Developer: Math, Science, Social Studies, Character Skills, and Reading 

FLSA Status: Exempt  

Location:  Remote based

Our Social Impact Solutions group is dedicated to dramatically improving learning and life outcomes for all children. We are seeking creative and detail-oriented Curriculum Developers with expertise in one or more of the following content areas: reading, math, science, social studies, and/or character development. These individuals will form the core of a project team tasked with developing and revising a high-quality,  integrated K-5 curriculum that aligns to research-based instructional standards and learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will collaborate with external partners, subject matter experts, instructional designers, and various stakeholders to create engaging and effective curriculum content for diverse learning environments.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO:  

In this role you will:

  • Lead the creation and revision of curricula for Math, Science, Social Studies/Character Skills, and/or Reading as a member of a team of content experts.  
  • Ensure alignment with educational standards, institutional goals, and learner needs.
  • Incorporate evidence-based instructional design principles and emerging technologies.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of curriculum developers and curriculum writers.
  • Coordinate task assignments, set goals, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Partner with educators, administrators, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure the curriculum meets their requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to gather feedback and implement revisions.
  • Develop processes to evaluate and ensure the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of curriculum materials.
  • Conduct regular reviews and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of current trends in education, curriculum design, and instructional technology.
  • Integrate innovative strategies and tools to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed records of curriculum development processes, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic background in Education, Social Sciences, or related field.  
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in education (PK-12 preferred) or public-sector professional experience   
  • Two (2) or more years of management experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of curriculum development, review and alignment to state and national standards

  • A proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; problem solving, project management, and creative resourcefulness 
  • Capacity for managing and leading people; ability to connect with people both on an individual level and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability, develop and empower top notch leaders from the bottom up, cultivate entrepreneurship, and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team so as to put people in a position to succeed.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working and building relationships with clients and with external stakeholders 
  • Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task on multiple projects 
  • An ability to navigate ambiguity comfortably and meet frequent deadlines 
  • A sense of humor and ability to work in a dynamic environment 
  • Ability to travel depending on client needs
