The Senior Finance Analyst is a part of the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region, under the Medical Surgical (MS) portfolio and is the biggest portfolio in size, helping >2M patients every year across +1,550 private and public hospitals. As the Senior Finance Analyst – Data and Insights for MS, the role oversees the data and analytical finance activities and provides financial support and business analysis to finance business partners to drive financial results and operating performance improvement.

This remote role (offshore) sits under the Medical Surgical Business Finance team, reporting to the Medical Surgical Finance Manager. It includes responsibility for ensuring/maintaining a strong data control environment, creating/analysing financial performance, leading reporting and analysis transformation, and partnering across the greater finance organization (OU and function finance).

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support financial reporting/close processes, planning, and analysis activity for MS Operating Units.
  • Deliver accurate and clear financial results and financial comparisons at period end.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners (FBP) during the financial forecasting and planning processes (rolling forecasts, LBEs, AOP, strategic plan, etc.), including system loading, all expense and balance sheet aspects.
  • Build, develop and implement data, models and dashboards, that integrate data from multiple sources, to extract insights and information.
  • Analyse data using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, identifying opportunities to improve performance or root causes for poor performance.
  • Create visualisations such as charts, graphs, and dashboards to present data findings.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in data analytics tools and techniques so that best practice can integrated into data and analytics processes.
  • Complete other ad-hoc and/or standard reporting processes as necessary.


Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of data management experience
  • Tertiary degree in Business, Finance / Accounting, Computer Science or Economics.
  • Experience in PowerBI and other data visualisations tools
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, R, Python or other coding languages
  • Advanced excel and data modelling skills and knowledge
  • Experience with financial/reporting and systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion/Essbase, etc.)
  • Experience and/or available to operate within a complex organization and with various stakeholders.
  • Strong results orientation and bias for action, including a high degree of initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs.
  • Ability to translate ideas and financial results into concise reports and visuals.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data.
  • Proactively seeks ways to improve and innovate.
