Description

Overview
The Constructability Manager at Kent Power is a key player in ensuring projects are executed seamlessly by identifying and addressing potential challenges before work begins. This role combines technical expertise, strategic planning, and collaboration to optimize project outcomes and timelines.

The Constructability Manager will be responsible for reviewing project scopes, analyzing blueprints, and conducting pre-project site assessments to identify obstacles and opportunities for improvement. They will develop comprehensive constructability reports, coordinate with stakeholders, and monitor schedules, materials, and resources to ensure projects are set up for safe and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project meetings throughout the day.
  • Determine the time needed to complete the full project scope.
  • Track project scopes and drawings for issuance in a timely manner; update project timelines accordingly.
  • Collect and track project start dates and update the master schedule accordingly.
  • Review drawings to determine alignment with project scope; capture issues and submit to customers for resolution before the project begins.
  • Monitor material deliveries and lead times; communicate updates in lead time to minimize project impact.
  • Conduct pre-project site visits to gather information and take pictures of the work area.
  • Develop a constructability report, integrate the outage plan, contact information, and emergency preparedness response plan, and present it to internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Build a detailed project schedule for each project.
  • Compile manpower and equipment breakdown reports to estimate project completion hours and timing; review and submit to the estimating department.
  • Develop project access plans by identifying roads, pull pads, hotline crossings, and hazards that may be encountered during project execution.
  • Works from overall policies, goals, and budgetary limits. Virtually self-supervising with direct accountability for results.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree specializing in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of utility construction/field experience.

Skills

  • Ability to understand and manipulate blueprints and diagrams.
  • Proficient in the use of technology, such as a computer or tablet.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various parties.
  • Ability to identify issues and utilize effective problem-solving skills to design solutions.
  • Ability to remain agile in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
