Reporting to the National Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving and executing sales in Ontario, MB, and BC. This individual will be responsible for the implementation of strategy in these territories, while overseeing 8 direct reports. This Individual will be the expert on Ontario and Western Canada trends, opportunities, threats, and assessment of overall impact to the full embecta business. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible to hire, develop, coach, train and motivate team members to achieve personal excellence and to manage embecta’s base business and growth opportunities across key customers and channels.

This is a remote position within Canada, but we prefer candidate to live in Ontario.

  

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Leadership and Talent Management

  • Lead, train and motivate the team of sales representatives to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire talented sales professionals.
  • Ensure new hires receive appropriate orientation and training to set them up for future success including product knowledge and training. Coach, lead and develop the sales team in sales execution through regular field visits, and phone contact.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with all key customer stakeholders to support selling and market development.
  • Maintain sales data and records on each territory to understand market trends, provide direction to associates, and communicate competitive data.
  • Work closely with marketing to support promotional efforts.
  • Effectively monitor and manage selling expenses for the Region.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities & Proven problem-solving skills

  • Proven track record of high-level sales successes.
  • Strong Communicator and above average presentation skills in a variety of presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, and with senior leadership.
  • Strong business and financial acumen and analytical skills with proven understanding of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
  • Position requires travel across Canada, approximately 30% overnight travel.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 7+ years’ experience in the healthcare and or medical device industry.
  • 5+ years’ experience selling medical devices.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, with the demonstrated ability to lead and serve as an effective team member in a large organization including planning, developing, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating personnel.
  • Proven track record of leading sales teams, driving team and individual performance, coaching sales execution and developing teams and associates.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bi-lingual in French and English considered an asset.
  • Diabetes knowledge considered an asset.
