Director of Operations

Experior Financial Group, Inc. is looking for a motivated Director of Operations who works well with others but is also able to work independently and thrives working on multiple projects. Responsibilities:

  • Assess, delegate, oversee, and complete all operational aspects in Canada, USA & Puerto Rico.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set strategic goals and make decisions for operational activities.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and proactively enhance personal knowledge.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and management.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of each department to drive efficiencies across various departments.
  • Plan, implement, track metrics, and fully report on project outcomes.
  • Assume full responsibility for all initiated projects.
  • Suggest process and technology improvements.
  • Identify, rectify, and streamline opportunities within operational departments.
  • Provide relevant department updates to executive management and stay informed about all tasks within your team and department(s).
  • Manage, motivate, train, and inspire employees.
  • Support and coach the team by providing resources and guidance to help employees perform their responsibilities effectively and confidently.
  • Monitor team members’ performance and progression throughout the year, applying corrective measures for performance improvement when necessary, including biennial reviews and more frequent evaluations as needed.
  • Act as a hiring manager for operational roles.
  • Travel to conferences, head offices, and training as necessary.
  • Conduct weekly department meetings to discuss priorities and updates.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration, business, accounting is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Life Insurance and/or MGA Sector is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a management or leadership position within operations with a proven track record of overseeing a team of 30 or more direct or indirect employees is required
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to delegate, supervise and see tasks through to completion
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities -- Capable of managing tight deadlines and multiple priorities effectively.
  • Effective problem-solving and investigative skills.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, proactive, with a keen sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Approachable and professional in delivering challenging information via in-person, phone, and email interactions.
  • Strong computer skills with a capacity to learn new systems.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Positive demeanor with an openness to constructive feedback.
  • Must hold a valid passport.
  • Must reside and be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is a significant asset; willingness to learn these languages is also valued.

Salary Range - $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 CAD annually

The compensation range reflects a data-driven estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment. Individual pay may vary based on geographic location, job related skills, knowledge, experience, education etc.
