Job description

Your perspectives with us

We are looking for operational peers for our team to improve our hosting infrastructure. The infrastructure is used by the developers to deliver their software as a cloud service to the Serviceware customers.

Our hosting platform consists of multiple virtual datacenters hosted on several public cloud providers (including AWS, Azure and the Hetzner Cloud) and a Serviceware owned private cloud based entirely upon Linux systems. Therefore, we need additional hands to maintain the very central core systems supporting the Linux infrastructure, such as DNS servers, VPN tunnels connecting the virtual datacenters, package management systems and others.

These tasks are waiting for you

  • take ownership of the core systems that support our Linux infrastructure, including DNS servers, VPN tunnels, package management systems, and other essential components
  • manage and optimize virtual datacenters hosted on various public cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, and Hetzner Cloud, along with our privately-owned Linux-based cloud
  • collaborate with the team to develop and implement strategies for optimizing the Linux infrastructure and ensuring smooth network connectivity
  • troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including performance, security, and connectivity, across the entire infrastructure
  • monitor and scale systems efficiently to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability
  • maintain and improve automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring purposes
  • conduct regular audits and security assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
  • stay up to date with the latest advancements in Linux systems, network administration, and cloud technologies

What you have to offer

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • proven experience as a Linux Infrastructure & Network Administrator, managing and maintaining complex Linux-based systems
  • solid understanding of Linux systems administration, including package management, user management, and system security
  • proficiency in network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, and network troubleshooting
  • experience working with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Hetzner Cloud
  • strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and infrastructure management
  • excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and staying updated with emerging technologies
  • due to our international teammates, you should be able to communicate in a customer-oriented manner, fluently in English and ideally also in German

An additional plus would be:

  • experience in a hybrid VM and container-based Linux environment, ideally with tools such as
    • Container Orchestration (Nomad)
    • Configuration Management Tool (Ansible)
    • Terraform
  • experience with cloud-based hosting platforms and infrastructure, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
What we offer you

We are constantly looking for bright minds who enjoy excellent IT processes and a professional work environment. With us you will find all the possibilities of a modern work environment. We attach great importance to flexibility. Therefore, we work with the model of trust-based working hours, for example. There is always mutual support in our teams. We have flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths, which leave plenty of scope for your own ideas and suggestions. Your personal development will not be neglected either but will be supported, among other things, through individual training opportunities. Coffee and other drinks are always available with us.

If you are passionate about Linux systems administration, network administration, and cloud technologies, and enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you. Join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our hosting infrastructure as we strive to deliver top-notch cloud services to our valued customers.
