Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Front End Developer to join our dynamic team. Based in Europe, you will be pivotal in enhancing our digital platforms, including live event applications, athlete tracking tools, and fan engagement solutions. Your expertise will ensure our platforms are robust, user-friendly, and aligned with our mission to elevate the sport globally.

Key Responsibilities

Frontend Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive and responsive web applications using Vue.js and associated technologies.
Component Design: Build modular, reusable UI components to ensure consistency across World Triathlon’s digital ecosystem.
API Integration: Work closely with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs, including real-time data feeds and analytics.
Optimization: Ensure applications are fast, scalable, and optimised for performance across various devices and browsers.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure seamless execution of projects.
Testing: Implement unit and end-to-end testing to maintain high-quality standards.
Documentation: Documenting and maintaining software functionality.
Innovation: Stay updated on emerging web technologies and contribute ideas to improve World Triathlon’s digital offerings.
Visuals: Create data visualisations and analytics dashboards
Support: Occasional IT support for World Triathlon staff. Some weekend (event) on call support.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience as a Vue.js Developer or similar role in frontend development.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
Experience with Vue.js core features (e.g., Vue Router, Vuex/Pinia, Composition API).
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and modern frontend frameworks.
Experience integrating and working with RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with tools like Webpack, Vite, or similar bundlers.
Proficient with Git and version control workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment.
Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with AWS ecosystem
Ability to write MYSQL queries
Knowledge of PHP / Laravel
Experience in sports or event-related digital platforms.
Familiarity with live-streaming integrations or real-time data processing.
Knowledge of testing frameworks like Vitest, Cypress, or similar.
Exposure to backend technologies, particularly Node.js, is a bonus.
Passion for triathlon or an understanding of the sport is desirable.
