The Role:
As Head of Exercise Medicine, you will be responsible for managing the clinical and professional performance and quality of the service across the GenesisCare UK network; ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. This pivotal leadership role encompasses strategic planning, operational excellence, and the pursuit of innovation to ensure the delivery of a high-quality, patient-centred service. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, optimise service models to enhance access and efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of care and compliance for our patients and staff
In addition to operational leadership, you will champion the integration of Exercise Medicine into GenesisCare’s broader vision, driving research initiatives, influencing clinical best practices, and mentoring teams to achieve excellence. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will shape the future of Exercise Medicine while contributing to organisational growth and advancing patient outcomes.

What You'll Do:
- Manage the operational model for Exercise Medicine.
- Oversee location builds, modifications, and related projects in conjunction with the National Operations Manager and Centre Leader
- Ensure compliance with clinical policies, regulatory standards, and quality systems
- Oversee training and mentoring for Exercise professionals.
- Provide professional oversight and strategic advice to the UK leadership and clinical governance.
- Work with the Centre Leader to drive recruitment, and collaborate on work streams for performance management, and employee engagement.
- Optimise and innovate the Exercise Medicine App and service model.
- Develop business plans and implement growth strategies with the National Operations Manager
- Foster research and promote a culture of innovation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and drive growth opportunities.
- Support and promote research initiatives through publications and presentations.
- Stay updated on industry developments and implement best practices.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
What You'll Have:
Experience and skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead clinical services, ensuring professional standards and statutory regulations are consistently met.
- Strong experience in a private healthcare setting, with a track record of driving innovation and improving patient outcomes.
- Oncology or healthcare experience in complex environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, particularly with senior clinical employees.
- Proven ability to prioritise and lead in demanding settings.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
- Proficiency in project management, strategic planning, and operational delivery in complex healthcare environments.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Essential Qualification: Must be a qualified and HCPC registered physiotherapist with a strong understanding of exercise oncology and physiotherapy best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare standards, legislation, and compliance requirements, particularly within oncology or exercise-based therapies.
- In-depth understanding of private healthcare settings and associated regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to navigate healthcare IT systems.
