Job description

Intrepid Travel is seeking a Deputy Operations Manager (Temporary) for Japan to ensure the seamless delivery of our group and external trips across the region. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll collaborate effectively between our guides, suppliers, and management, ensuring the highest standards of service and safety.

As Deputy Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our trips, constantly collaborating with suppliers and Group Leaders. From responding to passenger feedback to resolving on-the-ground challenges, your contribution will have a great impact on the quality of every journey!

You'll coach and develop our Group Leaders, ensuring they give their best when leading our trips. You’ll also be a clear communicator, providing on-ground staff with frontline support and access to relevant trip information. Most importantly, your collaboration with other teams in the office will ensure the best travel experience for our customers!

This is a full-time temporary (one-year limited) position, based in our Osaka office, requiring some flexibility in work hours due to the operational nature of the role. To provide the best experience for our people, this role would operate in our office with the opportunity to work from home occasionally.

Some of the experience you’ll bring with you may include:

  • Proven experience in the travel industry, preferably as a Group Leader for Intrepid or a similar organization in the region.

  • Experience with managing and coaching people

  • Strong English communication and office administration skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of Leaders, managing crises and taking responsibility for the safety of others in challenging situations.
