About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Tax Accountant and Bookkeeper to join its dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse client base, contribute to the firm's business objectives, and deliver outstanding client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
  • Preparation and review of Business Activity Statements (BAS), Installment Activity Statements (IAS), and other ATO statements.
  • Conducting tax research and assisting with client advice, including tax planning, tax minimization strategies, Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), etc.
  • Direct client interaction, ensuring high levels of service are met.
  • Collaboration with the accounting and bookkeeping team to achieve client outcomes.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as compiling tax letters, managing ASIC/corporate secretarial functions, and preparing invoices.
  • Maintaining internal records, including the BAS register and individual tax return lodgment status.
  • Supporting social media and marketing efforts by formatting and posting content, maintaining the website, and assisting with presentations.
  • Providing personal EA support to the Director, including managing calendars, conducting research, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Contributing to upcoming projects, such as software conversion, template development, and cloud migration.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with social media content creation tools (e.g., Canva).
  • Bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience with Xero or MYOB accounting software.
  • Experience with Australian tax law and practices.
