Job description

This is a remote position.

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:

    • Process and manage invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
    • Record and reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
    • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any discrepancies with clients or vendors.
    • Maintain an organized system of financial records, ensuring documentation is easily accessible.
  • Bank Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile bank statements with internal records on a monthly basis.
    • Identify and resolve any discrepancies between bank transactions and accounting records.
  • General Ledger Management:

    • Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
    • Ensure all transactions are properly classified and coded to correct accounts.
    • Assist in preparing month-end and year-end closing entries.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Help with the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Tax Compliance:

    • Support the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, GST, corporate tax).
    • Ensure that the company complies with all tax regulations and filing deadlines.
  • Payroll Processing (if applicable):

    • Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring accuracy in calculations of salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
    • Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and other statutory contributions.
  • Internal Controls and Audits:

    • Assist with the preparation for internal and external audits.
    • Help implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial integrity and reduce the risk of errors or fraud.

    • Data Management and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and files.
    • Ensure the secure storage of financial data, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Other Responsibilities:

    • Assist senior accounting staff with ad-hoc financial tasks and reporting requirements.
    • Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities.
    • Communicate with other departments to gather financial information and ensure timely reporting
