We’re seeking an innovative and results-oriented Contracts Manager to join our Global Contract Management team within the Procurement organization. In this critical role, you will lead the management of agreements with a diverse range of business partners, ensuring seamless contract execution while driving continuous improvement in contracting processes. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and operating a potential new Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.


Here’s What You’ll Do:

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Addressing daily incoming contract requests, escalating to Legal as needed, and managing signature processes.

  • Handling contract development through all lifecycle stages, removing viscosity for smooth collaboration and swift execution.

  • Evaluating records for retention in compliance with company-approved policies using digital tools to enhance accuracy and accessibility.

  • Collaborating with Procurement Category Management to ensure strategy and negotiated content are reflected in contracts.

  • Supporting stakeholders to ensure contracts meet objectives and deliver total value.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Communicating with internal clients and external parties to exchange relevant contracting information and legal documents.

  • Reviewing, drafting, and editing a broad range of commercial contracts, including consulting, vendor, and collaboration agreements.

  • Maintaining and enhancing contract templates, including Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Amendments, and Consulting Agreements.

  • Developing training materials on contracting topics and conducting employee training sessions as required.

  • Driving continuous enhancements to increase adoption, compliance, and efficiency in contracting processes.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required; demonstrated experience may be substituted for the educational requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience negotiating, drafting, and finalizing a variety of commercial contracts

  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal

  • Paralegal degree or certification, preferred

  • Knowledge of legal and commercial terms and concepts and familiarity with basic business contracts

  • Familiarity of Formal and informal competitive bidding principles and processes and legal requirements

  • This role is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience developing and/or managing contracts, including tracking documents through the contracting lifecycle, contract compliance items, and keeping organized records

  • Able to work independently and as part of a high functioning team in a fast-paced environment

  • Sound reasoning skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and ethical judgment within broadly defined practices and policies

  • Organizational skills and high level of attention to detail

  • Experience working at a life sciences or medical company preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with CLM’s, Agiloft, MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Working independently with general guidance from supervisor

  • Making decisions and exercising good judgment; demonstrating political astuteness.

  • Maintaining poise while dealing with people in difficult situations; exercising tact and diplomacy; always interacting in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintaining confidentiality of all matters
