Job description

Chemonics International is seeking technical experts to support the anticipated USAID-funded Yemen Economic Activity. USAID/Yemen seeks to address the economic constraints that have led to a declining and unstable macroeconomy, employment, and standard of living. The activity will assist Yemen in reestablishing key economic institutions, stabilizing the macroeconomy through improved monetary and fiscal policy, and facilitating international trade.

These positions will be based in Aden, Yemen, or surrounding areas, depending on the design of the project. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

We are seeking mid- and senior-level technical specialists in the following areas:    

  • Fiscal and monetary policy design and implementation
  • Macroeconomic reform in post-conflict settings
  • International trade facilitation and regulatory reform
  • Small and medium enterprise development
  • Access to finance and developing financial products targeted to SMEs

Qualifications For Technical Experts

  • Master’s degree in business administration, economics, international trade, or relevant discipline preferred
  • Minimum five years of experience working in developing and transitioning economies, including background of managing and implementing large projects in trade and fiscal policy, private sector growth, public financial management, economic policy development, business enabling environment, particularly in the Middle East and Near Africa region or in post-conflict countries
  • Experience working with or for USAID projects preferred
  • Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Strong skills in speaking and writing English and ability to work in Arabic
